Corn 23 posts	(from http://www.geekmontage.com/) Activision Nixes Infinity Ward Leads So if I were to tell you that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been one of Activision’s greatest successes as the owner of the developer Infinity Ward, you would all thank me, Captain Obvious, and then proceed to denigrate my mother. Well, it seems that someone else has missed the memo. Behold, as Activision does the unthinkable and fires two of Infinity Ward’s lead developers on the Modern Warfare series: Jason West and Vince Zampella. This is, for any fans of Modern Warfare, even ones that were irked by the lack of dedicated server support for Modern Warfare 2, a bit of difficult news to swallow. What fortunes now for the Call of Duty series? Activision still has a new Call of Duty title developed by Treyarch set to follow the Second World War, but for the Modern Warfare series, indeed, the entire progenitors of the Call of Duty series, the future seems a bit uncertain. The motivations for the firing are uncertain. The SEC brief filed earlier cites “insubordination” by the two senior developers, but lacking exact details, it is difficult to say what the case is all about. ProVideR 7 posts	You can read up on all of it over at modernwarfail.com they have copies of the court docs. up so you can read it. Pretty interesting if you are a geek and pissed off about no dedi servers. It says former IW heads want full control regarding everything set after the vietnam era. dnWyt 127 posts	^^ Agree with IW being dead. By firing the two head developers who have been there since the COD series started goes to show the change this is game will be going through. My guess is they tried to keep the series the way it started, and were fired for not thinking of money instead of quality. COD series is dead, and will die even if Treyarch somehow brings out a game that doesn't fail. Modern Warfare will be the last best part of the series even though it was at first ranted on for the fact it was similar to counter strike. Anyway, don't expect to be too much more competitive gaming. All games are going casual, so we are just going to have to like the games for what they are and not how they can be evened up or changed for compeitition. I play HoN personally cause it can be compeitive and its even still in Beta and I dunno when it will actually come out lol. Anyway, ive ranted enough. dnWyt aka CrazySniper Have Fun and Kick ASS!
